The Glenlivet Distillery Readies A New Entry Level Scotch For 2015

The upcoming Founder's Reserve whisky, set for release this coming March, will price around the same as the distillery's 12-year-old bottling.

glenlivet-founderThe Glenlivet distillery is getting ready to debut next year a new non-age statement bottling which will become part of its regular line up globally, Known as Founder’s Reserve, it will clock in price wise in the same range as its 12-year-old Scotch.

The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve is described by the distillery as being a house style whisky that’s been “complemented with a creaminess and sweetness from the addition of first fill American oak casks, resulting in a malt of exceptional smoothness.” It is bottled at 40% ABV and should be available come March.

The whisky is so named Founder’s Reserve, by the way, to pay honor to the original vision of The Glenlivet founder George Smith’s idea of a smooth single malt.

In related news, it was also announced this particular Scotch producer, as of this past September, had surpassed the one million case milestone, making for what’s been a strong year for it. It was only back in that just mentioned month, for example, that a $25,000 limited edition bottling that was first laid down back in 1964 went on sale.
