Whiskey Review: Wyoming Whiskey

, the nosed sweetness quickly gives way to considerable spiciness, most notably black pepper. Slight fruit and orange oil follow through onto the palate. Warm on the palate, with no heat on the throat. The finish is a long, warm one. Making for a moderately good dram on its own, Wyoming Whiskey imparts peppery warmth. Mixed into an Old Fashioned, WW lent appropriate spice and pepper that meshed well with the angostura bitters, orange peel, and amarena cherry I supplied. For lasting warmth, interesting nose and palate contrast, and mixability I would give Wyoming Whiskey a hearty 86. Unfortunately for coastal whiskey fanatics, Wyoming Whiskey is currently only available in Wyoming, Colorado, and Texas, with plans to spread distribution to Utah, Montana, and Idaho. The demand for WW appears to be high outside of its home, but production remains limited as it is a newer dram from a fledgling distillery. Fingers crossed that WW fans across the country can imbibe soon!
